Lethbridge’s Trusted Family Photographer
Welcome
You’re not just booking a photo session. You’re putting your trust in someone to tell a story — your story — honestly, artfully, and without any pretense.
I’ve been doing this a long time, and I’ve photographed just about everything: small-town hockey games, big-city business portraits, wild kids, sleeping dogs, real estate, racing cars, and quiet family moments that nobody noticed but me. My job? To make sure your photos feel like not like something off a Pinterest board.
Location, Location, Location
Our studio is based in Milk River, but we travel throughout Southern Alberta to wherever your story unfolds best.
The best location for your portraits isn’t about fancy backdrops or trendy spots — it’s about places that mean something to you. It could be the park where you take your kids on weekend adventures, the backyard where your family gathers for barbecues, or your cozy home filled with memories.
Choosing a location you love makes the session feel natural, relaxed, and full of genuine moments. I’ll come to you or meet you wherever feels right — whether that’s a favourite hiking trail near Lethbridge, a quiet spot in Claresholm, or right at your front door in Cardston.
Together, we’ll pick the perfect setting that captures your family’s unique vibe and helps create images that feel true to you.
Where do we start
This isn’t a cookie-cutter, smile-and-snap setup. Your session is built around what matters to you — your style, your goals, your people. So before the camera comes out, we meet face-to-face for a relaxed, no-pressure visit. Not a phone call. Not a bunch of emails. Just a good old-fashioned chat to figure out what you’re after.
This isn’t about creating Pinterest-perfect poses or matching outfits. It’s about making portraits that mean something — that feel like you, not someone else’s idea of perfect. The session should fit your family, your story, your style.
We’ll talk about things like:
-
Do you want something formal or more relaxed?
-
Is this something to hang on your living room wall, or to give as a gift?
-
Where do you feel most like yourself — in a studio, in your backyard, at the farm, in the park?
Bring any examples or ideas you’ve seen and liked. We’ll build a rough “mood board” together — not for the sake of copying anyone else, but to get a sense of the look, feel, and tone you’re drawn to. Some people know exactly what they want. Others just know what they don’t want. Either works.
We’ll go over clothing choices too. If jeans and boots are your everyday style, we’re not going to dress you up like a mannequin. But if you’re hoping for a more polished, formal image, we’ll talk about what works best on camera and under studio lighting. The idea is to match the look to the location, the mood, and — most of all — you.
During the Session
You don’t need to know how to pose. That’s my job.
Small things — how you stand, where your feet point, what you’re doing with your hands, the tilt of a head — can make a big difference. I’ll guide you as much or as little as you need. The best results usually come from a mix: a little posing, a little play, and some room for real moments to happen naturally.
Yes, we do candids when the opportunity shows up — especially with kids. The best trick with little ones is to let them be kids. Parents constantly looking down to check on them ruins more shots than the kids ever do.
We work in a smart order to keep things moving and everyone engaged — starting with the big group shots while attention spans are fresh, then breaking it down to smaller groupings and individuals. A full family set with every combination — all together, just the kids, mom with the girls, dad with the boys, etc. — can be done in 15 minutes flat if needed. But there’s no stopwatch running.
What About Weather?
If we’re shooting outside, the only real issues are heavy wind or rain. (Cloudy skies are actually perfect — softer light, fewer shadows.) In winter, extreme cold can be a factor, but we’ll work around that too. Bottom line: we don’t cancel for a little drizzle or a chill in the air.
Session Length
No ticking clock here. We shoot until we’ve got what we need — whether that’s 20 minutes or two hours. The session fee covers that part. Nothing more, nothing less.
After the Session
Once we’ve got the images, we’ll book a time to sit down together and go through everything — the best of the best. This is where you’ll choose what you love, and decide what you want to do with it. Prints, wall art, albums, digital copies — you name it.
This is not a high-pressure sales pitch. It’s a conversation. You’re in control. I just walk you through the options and help you pick what fits.
Note: Because everything is customized. I don’t hand out cookie-cutter price sheets for one-size-fits-all jobs. You deserve more than that. I also offer payment plans
Turnaround Time
Most sessions are ready within a week, but if you’re in a rush, just say so — I’ve done same-day turnarounds when the situation calls for it.
Flexible Payment Options
To make your session as stress-free as possible, we offer flexible payment plans and multiple ways to pay — so you can focus on creating memories, not your budget.
Just So You Know…
I run this the small-town way: honest, no BS, no upsell tricks, no hiding behind jargon or fake urgency. You get real communication, straight-up service, and the kind of care you don’t find in “photo factory” setups.
If you ever have questions, concerns, or a weird idea you’re not sure will work — bring it up. I’ve probably done weirder.
