If it involves a camera, then at some point in time I’ve done it. From the outdoors to traveling baby day photographer to high fashion, I have explored various aspects of photography. I have had the privilege of photographing the homeless on city streets as well as Premiers, Prime Ministers, Presidents, and Royalty. My experiences range from high-end studios to home-based freelancing.
My journey as a photographer began in high school, and it almost ended there if not for a real photographer who took the time to look at my work and show me how to improve. Most importantly, he showed me what really good work looked like. This guidance ignited a passion within me to constantly strive for excellence in my craft.
When it comes to photography, what do I like best? The answer is simple: anything that involves making photographs. However, there is a special place in my heart for working with newborns and their parents. There is something magical about capturing the interaction between Mom, Dad, and their newest addition to the family. Every child has their own unique personality, and I believe in capturing those genuine moments rather than relying on highly manipulated, photoshopped images.
While some photographers may choose to pose newborns in unnatural positions, I prefer to wait until they are around three months old. At this age, they naturally settle into various poses, allowing for more authentic and comfortable photographs. I believe in creating a safe and relaxed environment for both the baby and the parents, ensuring that the true essence of their bond is captured in every shot.
Photography is not just about the technical aspects of operating a camera or editing images; it is about telling a story and evoking emotions. Each photograph has the power to freeze a moment in time and preserve it for generations to come.
